About Us
The "WERTSTOFFBOX KIEL" was founded in early 2020 and has been a non-profit organization since 2022. Its goal is to raise awareness and appreciation for materials, particularly household materials that are typically discarded. This appreciation is mainly promoted through EVENTS and the exchange platform for reusable materials of all kinds, the MATERIAL LIBRARY.
The organization focuses on education and aims to provide everyone with easy access to the topic of sustainability. You can find our statutes and the club/fee regulations HERE.
The Team
Our Space
The space of the "WERTSTOFFBOX KIEL" currently measures 9m² and is divided into two areas.
On one side is our Materialothek, which consists of over 180 materials that can be viewed on-site. In shelves, you can find jars containing everything from bottle caps and popsicle sticks to wax scraps, old keys, and can tabs. Papers, cardboard, and foils hang on the wall. In a box, you'll find all the larger materials.
On the other side, there's a selection of craft ideas that can be created from our materials, providing inspiration.
Network
The "WERTSTOFFBOX KIEL" is part of the network "Initiatives for Material Cycles," which currently includes 29 projects across the German-speaking region.
